Back-end web developer at One Shoe

April 2011 - July 2012

Back-end web developer at a medium sized company specialising in Drupal based websites. I worked at the company on two occasions; April 2011 to October 2011 and January 2012 to July 2012. Afterwards I have been hired as freelancer by the company to work on several other projects.

Drupal is a PHP based content management system, for which I have performed mainly module development. Part of the modules developed were site specific and were created based on the wishes of the client, others were of a more general nature and have been used in several sites created by OneShoe. Part of the development of general modules consisted of the porting of existing in house Drupal 6 modules to Drupal 7, which contained several changes which highly impacted the functioning of the modules.

One of the largest projects was the integration of a new search engine in an existing site with over 300,000 articles. The implementation chosen was an Apache Solr search engine (which makes use of technology from the Apache Lucene project for the search implementation), which had to be set up and integrated into a Drupal 6 installation. A later project involved the same integration, but for a new version of the site in Drupal 7.
